post your dislikes about introduction threads and posts in introduction threads

i hate it when someone someone says

welcome to the forum hope you stay active

Oh, I hate that! it's so wrong and is a turn off to me.

One time someone told me that on an anime forum and I said that I couldn't always be active and they were like, oh well.

Then after I wasn't on for two months becuase I didn't have a computer, when I finally got to go back. All of my posts were gone and I wasn't even a member anymore! I emailed them asking what happend but I never got a response.

When his/her welcome post is the only post they make. TBH I rarely make a welcome topic for me

I barley make welcome threads anymore, it's kind of annoying. Because most likely i won't be back at the forum.

I hate that when any administrator says that. That's a major turn-off for me. If someone says that to me, don't plan on me staying active, I can tell you that.

My major turn-off is when someone says to read the rules. That really ticks me off.

Just a thought maybe he said Oh Well because he totally neglected the fact that in his previous post he told you to be active and it was his or her way of saying that it's ok. Also I have seen numerous forums deleting members, who aren't active and haven't been for a long time. Don't agree with it however, I can see their point of view.

Honestly 99% of rules of each forum are exactly the same, its common sense what to do and what not to do on forums, no need to read them!

LOL, same here. If I'm on a forum, and there's nothing else better to do, then I'll take a quick glance at the rules just to see what an administrator has. I try to read them right when I sign up, but I usually get so involved with posting that it doesn't make much sense to me anyway, as most boards rules are the same anyways.

Welcome to the forum. Read the rules and be active!!!

It really annoys me.. I dont need to be told that..

I usually quote the person and take out all that other crap and only leave the word Welcome in the quote and I reply with Thanks
