Is re-gifting acceptable?

Eh, sure, as long as you're not regifting something important or of emotional value.

I myself have done it where I might get a bar of chocolate that I got from before however it was a good two years gap and I got them something else that they never had before with it and so mixed and match.

End of the day I got gifted the same each year almost but money gifts are good to get what you wanted.

Same feeling as Demon really. Not a problem if it's just a normal gift especially if there is no chance that you're going to use it. Always make sure that the person who gifted it to you won't find out though!

I never throw away something that was gifted to me, even if it was totally useless to me. I give it to someone else who really wants or needs it. IMO, when a gift given to you, you can do with it as you please.

I do, if it's new. I don't usually care too much about "emotional" value. Material stuff is never something you should be attached to

I've re-gifted many times. I get a lot of stuff from my family that I end up giving to someone else.

Absolutely! As long as you're not giving it back to the person that originally gave it to... that would be pretty embarrassing I imagine!

If it is brand new, not used and I have no use for it I will certainly regift it but will not tell the person that I am doing it

I think there is nothing wrong in it as long as it is not used and looks new.

That depends on what kind of gift. If it's just a box of chocolates or biscuits, I see no harm re-gifting to others if we do not plan to eat them.
