Is remixing a good trend in music?

Some say that it makes a song lose its originality or reduces the quality of the original song, some say its good because it exposes the new generation to older music.

I guess it depends on what kind of remix it is. I sure do hate it when a remix ruins a good song (no offense, but I don't like it when songs get too EDM-y, has too much dubstep and electronic stuff). In some cases I do prefer the remixes over the original songs.

No. Songs should be left as they are without endless remixes of what is essentially the same song.

Some songs have been made better by remixing, but SO many have been made worse. I'd say classics should be left alone, they're classic for a reason.

Musicians have been "remixing" or "sampling" music for a very long time. It can be done extremely well and it can also be done badly. It just depends.

I've found that there are some really good remixes... for example FiXT often does remix competitions for their artists to allow individuals to win prizes with well done remixes.
