Do you think Wal-Mart is unfair to their employees? Why or why not?

Yes I absolutely do, I used to work for Walmart and let me tell you it sucked. Retail jobs suck in general, but Walmart was way worse than when I worked for Shop n Save. You don't get paid enough for the amount of work you put in. Plus you're expected to do the job of at least two other people which is impossible to do even if you bust your butt. You don't get raises, you're capped at whatever you make when you started or at least that's how it was when I worked there. The only time you'd get a raise is if you were promoted to department leader and then you were expected to do even more work while also trying to keep an eye out on your employees in the department. The company makes enough money to pay their workers more than they do now. Don't even get me started on the customers that go through on a daily basis lol. They treat you like you're their personal punching bag and the managers will always side with them on everything because of the bs policy where "the customer is always right" even if they're in the wrong. Sorry to rant, but I absolutely hated working for Walmart and I feel bad for those who currently work there.

I was always treated fairly well by all of my managers, but I think that's mostly because they considered me to have a good work ethic. The customers usually treated me worse from time to time than the employees did. Holidays at Walmart suck, it's like you get claustrophobic with the amount of freight piling up in the back room. But in general, I don't recall ever being treated badly by any of the managers.
