Islamic State Member Warns Of NYC Attacks
Luckily for VICE's Shane Smith, he managed to speak with a reported member of the Islamic State without leaving the comfort of his own office. The fighter, allegedly 21-year-old Somali-Canadian Abu Usamah Somali, has been in Iraq since July and gave a stern warning about future attacks.

Do you believe what he's saying?

Oh, no, no, you see, the Muslims, they, ahh, yeah, they just want to live in peace with everybody and would NEVER harm anybody, all of that stuff about them doing all that terrible stuff is just to make those peaceloving people look bad, yeah, its from the CIA, and Bush, that's it, they just want to sing the old songs and knit prayer shawls, that's all.

Right?

ISIL's war just went global
Group calls for attacks on US and allies wherever they are - a declaration of war and a defining moment of this conflict
Last modified: 22 Sep 2014

ISIL has today announced a doctrinal shift in its ideology that carries potential historical significance.

In a new 42-minute message posted on Monday, it has called for the first time on its global support to take its fight to foreign shores beyond the Middle East.

Abu Mohammed Ali al-Adnani, the group's spokesman, urges listeners to strike the US and its allies and neither seek permission nor to look for justification.

He calls on them to use any means necessary to cause the enemy injury. The language is formal and clear: "Kill the disbeliever whether he is civilian or military, for they have the same ruling. Both of them are disbelievers."

You will notice, of course, that that story is not on that disgusting hater Fox News.

If it's happened before, it'll happen again. There will always be people out there who want to hurt other people, and they'll do whatever it takes in order to carry that out.

I'm of two minds here...on the one hand, we shouldn't ignore any terrorist threat, no matter the source. On the other hand, one major terrorist goal - irrespective of group or ideology - is to sow enough fear & discord into an opponent that the opponent either shrinks back and does nothing OR turns inward and restricts themselves (think security state here).

Of course, this doesn't mean we shouldn't take a long, long at ourselves in the mirror (especially in regards to America's foreign policy and how its' gotten us in trouble at times) but it also doesn't mean we should jump or cower in fear at every terrorist threat that comes up either.

We should all go to the park and hold hands and sing together to prove we just want to live in peace with everybody.

I'm sure the Islamic State and the others like, Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood, Boko Haram, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Al Qaeda, and now, apparently, Khorasan, will respect that because that's all they want to do too.

Right?

Ha, ha, ha...very funny, Doc.
But to answer your question, no one's saying we should ignore every damn threat thats' uttered...but to give every threat that comes in any credence would likely lead to America becoming a very, very dystopian world in the end, which ironically is a goal of a lot of these groups because it would mean they would've won already...but you'd like that, wouldn't you?
