Have you ever had a disaster happen in the kitchen while you were cooking?

Most recently I turned on the wrong burner and melted a bowl that was sitting on the stove and the whole house smelled like melted plastic for like 3 days. It was horrible.

A random flame came off from the side of a pot of pasta a few days back, but that's just about it; and it wasn't even me cooking.

My brother put a tin in the microwave... it began to spark. Luckily I saved the microwave.

A few weeks ago, I put plastic in the oven, and I BADLY burned some bread a while back.

I just had one right now!

I put some muffins in the oven and I was sitting here posting while they were cooking... Then the house started to smell funny.. So I go open the stove and I guess a knife fell in there (in the bottom part where the heat comes from). The wood handle of the knife was glowing bright orange and fell apart when I tried to pick it up with a spatula. The metal part of the knife turned black... Now I have to open all my doors and windows to air out the house because it stinks in here like burnt wood and metal.

Made a pizza, forgot it was in the oven. (I'll let you assume the outcome) lol

My bro forgot to put water in his easymac: mac n cheese.

Who knew you could make $1.50 stink bombs?

My son put a glass casserole dish on the stove top, then turned on the burner.......it exploded everywhere....

lol ^I did something similar except, I forgot that it was in the oven, and took it out and put it in the sink and ran cold water on it.. my fiancé heard the ticking and crackling and yanked me out of the kitchen just before it exploded.

I also set my hair on fire accidentally.. I had just relaxed my hair and blow dried it and I was going to make ramen because I was hungry.. when I tilted my head down to see how high the flame was, my hair caught fire.. I ran my head under the faucet in the sink..

Oh yeah and I accidentally set my kitchen on fire..

Lovely stories. +thanks

Once I was having friends over for a big Thanksgiving dinner. I bought a huge turkey and made homemade stuffing. I put the turkey in the oven and went about setting the table and doing other things to make everything perfect. The guests were to arrive at 4pm and I had everything timed out. I went to check and baste the turkey and realized I never turned the oven on

We used to have little stove burner covers for the top of the stove. My bro took one off to make mac and cheese, but turned on the wrong burner. They all caught on fire. No more burner covers. ):

Ohhh I have the funniest story... And also really dangerious.

My band mate went back to his flat after a night out, Pissed as a newt. he decided to cook a curry. He went to watch tv while it was cooking but fell asleep. Woke up 6 hours later the house was full of smoke (He's taken the batteries out of the smoke alarm as it kept beeping) Made his way to the kitchen to find then curry was just a black mess, and had melted into the cooking plate.

He kept the curry/plate on the bench top for about a month to remind him not to cook food when he is drunk.

Ive fell asleep cooking before too. Luckily nothing ever happened.

OMG.. Today I came home from work and the house smelled of gas. I opened up all the windows and doors and turned on the vent on the stove..

I left burner on... Well the knob was turned but no flame, so the gas was just leaking out.. I must have done it when I came home on my lunch which means the gas was going for 4 hours.

I hope that didnt run up my gas bill. Good thing the house didnt explode.

I dropped a glass container with grape juice in it in my kitchen earlier. It was a horrible mess.

I dropped a bag of sugar and the bag burst open. I had sugar every where and was a pain to clean it all up.
