Anyone here knit? I haven't started it, but I'm interested in getting into it. It just seems like a difficult thing to get used to, and I'm very much a visual learner who needs to have something demonstrated.

As part of an artistic theraputical class, i learned how to do macrame, making tea cozies and planter hangers. Maybe if youre good at it, knit a blanket with the Off Topix mascot. I mean if youre a Off Topix fanatic.

I do want to learn how to knit blankets and things like scarves or hats, but I just haven't picked it up for some reason. I want to, though!

I don't knit but I'd also like to learn how to knit blankets and scarves. Several craft stores where I live hold small knitting classes. I'm going to check into this when I get the chance.

My wife is a yarnie.

She'll buy bulk wool, which we then have to card, which means running it through a hand cranked machine that looks like something from the Inquisition.

Then she spins it. Dyes it. And then knits- stuff. from it.

Some of it she'll sell on Etsy to support her habit.

I would love to do that, too, if only I had the motivation to go to a class. I think I'd be one to watch videos on how to do it.

That's awesome! I would love to be good enough at it that I could sell, but who knows. Gotta start it first.

YT has a lot of helpful knitting vids

Thank you for the video. I like how she goes very slowly when explaining each step. That's pretty much what it's gonna take for me to get the hang of it, as a lot of the other videos I've watched tend to assume you already know how to cast off or on, which way to wrap the thread, etc. xD

My mom, grandma and baby's mama were/are all knitters. Not me though, never even tried. Is it hard?

I've tried it before and it was difficult not knowing all the steps. You can really screw up if you miss even one step and unravel the whole thing. But I'm sure once you get the hang of it, it'd be much easier.
