How do you deal with that person who thinks they know everything?

Pity them, though it depends on the situation. I'll react accordingly.

Unless they're causing a nuisance, I'll usually just leave them alone. If they want to act like that and have everyone hate them, then that's their choice.

Ignore them and never argue with them. These types of people tend to be grandiose egocentrics with an inability to admit they're ever wrong. If you challenge them directly, that's where they thrive. They will argue relentlessly to prove their point. Their mentality is 'my way is the right way', even when there's no one right way or they have been proven wrong. The more anyone challenges or argues with them, the madder they get. It's kind of like the saying: "Don't Feed The Trolls"

Ignore them, mostly. If they're an admin, however - like one of the two admins over at WATWD, for example - its' all I could do at times not to verbally slap the s--- out of him once in a while.

On a similar note, I find it funny when people reply to threads without having ever read the OP or any of the replies preceding them. It looks stupid when someone repeats essentially the same thing that is said several times before in the thread as if they are the only ones knowledgeable on the subject. :P

Agreed. Well said.

If I'm in the mood, I'll engage until the conversation becomes tedious, tiresome, monotonous... and that usually happens pretty quick with these sorts of people.
