Miami Heat small forward LeBron James wins the coveted NBA Kia MVP award for his third time. This means James would share the honor with the all-time greats: Larry Bird (3), Magic Johnson (3), and Moses Malone (3). He is surpassed only by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (6), Michael Jordan (5), Bill Russell (5), Wilt Chamberlain (4).

Other contenders that were up for consideration included Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers, Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs, and Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls. The award will be presented this Saturday.

The Rangers-Capitals? I hope the Rangers beat the Devils. The Devils took out the Philadelphia Flyers so I'm still kind of mad.

Doc, do you think LBJ deserved MVP?

I forgot to add that Kevin Durant was the main contender under consideration for MVP and originally I felt KD deserved it especially that buzzer-beater, game-winning shot against the Mavs. But now I am happy for LeBron seeing as he definitely deserved it. He is a better all-around player, has more assists, rebounds, and points than anyone on the Heat and after seeing the Heat play without LeBron in the regular season - I see that LeBron is the one carrying that team.

He definitely deserved it. I'm a Dwyane Wade fan all the way, but even so I have to hand it to Lebron for all the hardwork. Congrats to him. I also like how humble he is. He keeps his cool even with all the haters and criticism, Kudos to him.

Him or Bryant...

Don't get me wrong, Kobe is an amazing player, he is an insane shooter, and he has the clutch factor. But to me, Lebron's the better overall player who makes the team better. He is a flexible player who plays different positions, he's explosive, and his rebounding and assists contribute to a major factor in games just like Rajon Rondo (who is also MVP worthy). Though a lot of it was hype, he came into the league with all the skills required of a great player. Really all he is missing is a championship title.
