If you had to spend the rest of your life trapped inside of a video game of your choosing, which would it be? Why?

It'd be an MMO obviously, because there would be lotsa other people there and MMOs get updated a lot. As for which one, idk... GW2 seems the obvious choice since I play it a lot, but the world is pretty small compared to other MMOs. Maybe TESO? We'll see what that brings. :P

For me it would definitely have to be TES: Oblivion.. Although the sequel, Skyrim, has better graphics the prequel was much more fun. Maybe I just grew out of video games by the time Skyrim came out, but Oblivion will always be my favorite game of all time, classic..

Nahh man, you're right. Oblivion was MUCH better story-wise. The dark brotherhood in that game was just amazing. When you get locked up with a group of people in a house and have to kill everyone, turning them against each other... Best quest ever.

I thought Oblivion's questlines should've been longer... then comes along Skyrim's College of Winterhold.

Yet the dark brotherhood one was only half as long as the Oblivion one. Plus mages suck... I would've preferred a longer mercenary questline (don't remember the actual name) that didn't involve werewolves, but I guess they needed to bring more stereotypical stories in it. A fantasy game can't live with just vampires and dragons!

But hey... I moved on. I played the beta of TESO and have a new aweful game to bitch about! xD

I found them to be quite enjoyable in Morrowind once I thought of a way around the lack of Magicka regen. Levitate, Damage Strength, Absorb Health, Drain Health, teleportation, multiple summons... Playing an overpowered warrior was easy, playing a successful mage was harder.

Warrior wasn't quite so OP in oblivion once you modded it right (read: Oscuros overhaul). It was easy as hell running around kiting enemies with spells, really FPS meets RPG btw, awesome mechanics.

I tried a mage in skyrim, I thought maybe the gameplay would be more interesting with the added dragon shouts and all. However to my disappointment the shouts were just silly gimmicks to be used in easy (albeit fun) puzzles.

Since the combat system of all TES games is so basic I prefer to just rush through with a warrior and enjoy the story. That's the games' strength.

I've heard it said that Oblivion is a great Construction Set showcase :P

They really went out of their way to "balance" the game. Bit weird in a single player game, if you ask me.
Just compare these Ebony Mails: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Ebony_Mail_%28artifact%29 http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Artifacts#Ebony_Mail

There's that, but I still like to try and play through the various quests with appropriate characters.

Lmao yes, on my first playthrough the game was extremely easy and boring tbh. They actually used a scaling system which meant all enemies were always within your limits to kill and if they weren't, they just wouldn't spawn. On my playthrough I kinda rushed the story so I didn't level all the way up. Didn't even get to see half of the potential enemies. Needless to say, the game was broken.

Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul (OOO) fixed that, made the game 20x more difficult and added over 50 hours of extra quality new quests. Not to mention how much better the game looked and the new weapon skins. So yeah, the modding community was really that game's savior.

I cringe at the word balance, it always means nerf something into the ground and don't give any good alternatives...

My favorite part of the TES series is trying to see how many guards I can kill before they outnumber me.. They always made the guards super strong. I've never modded the game so maybe that's why, tho....

There was a mod for Oblivion that made the guards human instead of gods. I used it on a playthrough for full immersion when going for a thief, rogue character.

TBH though the code wasn't made for you to beat the guards. If they were on full alert you either had to massacre a whole city worth of guards or never set foot into that city again until you paid off your fines through the thieves guild.

SKYRIM!!!!!

Can go where ever you want, fight, drink mead! :D
Never actually played any of the others but I do have Oblivion.

I would love to be in Mario or something. It would be awesome with all the mushroom people and universes and stuuuuuff. :D
