I went to the liquor store around 10pm to get a bottle of booze and I'm paying for it up at the counter.  This thugged out gangster looking guy comes up and sets a 40oz beer on the counter and walks outside.  Ignoring that, the cashier and I continued with the transaction, she started bagging my item.

Suddenly he walks back in confronting the cashier saying "How you gonna let this guy get in front of me, didn't you see me set my stuff down, I was next!"

She had a puzzled look on her face and just said "Uh..."

He then turns to me and asks me for a dollar.
I told him I didn't have any cash on me (I was paying with a debit card).
He then said "Let me get a drink of that bottle then"
..to which I replied, "I gotta go." & I headed to the exit.
As I was leaving he said "Get the fuck outta here! I'll bust you in your head if I see you again!"

So yeah, that happened.  The nerve of that guy.  I don't owe him a damn thing.
Why didn't he follow me to the parking lot and "bust my head" right then at that very moment? It was obvious he was just being belligerent and harassing whoever happened to be in front of him.

I think he walked outside (originally at the begging of this) to follow the person ahead of me out & beg him for money or for some of his beer.  Not sure though.  People like this end up on the news.  He'll end up being confrontational to the wrong person one day and end up in a body bag.

I get into little disputes all the time with people like that around here, usually at night.  Remind me not to go to public places at night anymore.

And then flaming liberals want to know why some of the rest of the world go with 'concealed carry'.

The punk could just have easily followed you outside to 'make his point', and might have had a couple of friends out there as well.

not sure if you're allowed to bring a gun into a liquor store in california, even if you have a concealed weapons permit... :|

but @Nebulous, what a shame...

What an awful thing to have to go through. I don't know how that cashier feels safe to work there. Glad nothing came of it and you got away safely. You're right, Nebulous, one day he's going to pick the wrong person to do this to.

Jerk employee's normally don't keep their jobs for very long. A bad attitude is not good for any business.

The employee wasn't the jerk in this situation...
