(The Guardian) John Farnham undergoing surgery for cancer
Music legend John Farnham has been diagnosed with cancer.

Farnham’s family has released a statement to say he has been admitted to hospital for surgery and treatment.

The statement also includes words from Farnham himself, taking comfort in the fact that “countless others have walked this path before me” and the excellence of Victoria’s healthcare professionals.

NO!!!

I love John Farnham.

Come on Farnsie, you can beat this!

(The Guardian) John Farnham in intensive care after cancer surgery
The singer remains in a stable condition in intensive care, according to a statement released by his family this morning.

The Farnham family said they wanted to acknowledge and thank everyone for their ongoing messages and well wishes that have been shared throughout the last week: It really lifts our spirits knowing that everyone is thinking of John.

Jill Farnham said: John remains in a stable condition in ICU following the removal of a cancerous tumour in his mouth on Tuesday. He is awake and responding well to the care he’s receiving.

I love Farnsie and hope he recovers.

(The Guardian) John Farnham out of ICU and ‘progressing well’ after cancer surgery, family says
John Farnham’s family have released a statement on the singer’s progress after his cancer surgery: John’s recovery from last month’s surgery for mouth cancer is progressing well. His medical team are very pleased with his progress over the past month. He was moved from ICU and into a general ward a couple of weeks ago. That in itself was terrific progress.

This week John has been transferred into a rehabilitation facility. Each of these steps means things are moving in the right direction and for that we are enormously thankful.

Our family is so very grateful to all the remarkable teams of Victorian medical professionals who have taken such good care of John. These outcomes are a credit to their dedication, skills and compassion.

We have received many thousands of beautiful messages via the weloveyoujohn.com.au website since it was launched. Being surrounded by this much love and support has meant the world to us all. Thank you.

Get well soon, John. You truly are The Voice.

I hope he recovers too; cancer's a foul disease, not just for the sufferer but for their family too.
