What event or incident happened at your job (past or present) that caused a mass firing or mass quitting?

Walking into work one day, I passed a line of just over 30 people carrying boxes being escorted out. Very interesting day. The reason: They were required to gain a specific certification within 6 months of employment. They all had passed 1 year on the job and didn't get it.
