...what is with Republican officials and seditious speech?
A Republican Missouri lawmaker said that she meant "no ill intent" toward President Obama when she asked on her Facebook page if the U.S. military was able to oust the president.

In a Facebook post last week, Jefferson County Recorder of Deeds Debbie Dunnegan referred to Obama as "our domestic enemy," according to a screenshot published by Progress Missouri.

"I have a question for all my friends who have served or are currently serving in our military … having not put on a uniform nor taken any type military oath, there has to be something that I am just not aware of. But I cannot and do not understand why no action is being taken against our domestic enemy. I know he is supposedly the commander in chief, but the constitution gives you the authority," she wrote in the post. "What am I missing? Thank you for your bravery and may God keep you safe."

Dunnegan, who is up for re-election in November, said that her question was taken out of context, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

"Something innocent and simple got twisted into a disaster because it's an election," she said. "I meant no ill intent toward the president. I meant no ill intent toward anybody."

Her Facebook account is private, but Dunnegan said she has not deleted the post and doesn't seem worried how it might impact her re-election bid.

"I think it could hurt it as much as it could help it," she said.(Talking Points Memo)

Just copying a Democrat?

Gov. Steve Beshear, who has remained neutral during the presidential primary and who will serve as a Kentucky superdelegate at the national convention in August, avoided talking about the Democratic candidates by criticizing President Bush.

“When I mention that Democrats are problem solvers, I can think of only one Republican who can be a problem solver — that is Vice President Dick Cheney if he would just take George on a hunting trip,” Beshear said. Cheney accidentally shot fellow quail hunter Harry Whittington in Texas in 2006.

That wasn't seditious thought, Doc...bad humor, maybe, but nothing there was seditious. Nice try, though.

So it is not possible that her facebook question was possibly an actual question (one that she should know the answer to), perhaps badly placed, but not seditious?

Remember, you are talking about the intelligence of an elected official... such as Sheila Jackson Lee believing that Apollo landed on Mars.

Her being an elected official doesn't let her off the hook there; if those remarks don't count as seditious in thought, what does? :|

It was a question as to why the American Military has NOT staged a coup.

She didn't tell them to go do it.

This is a matter of people being idiots and not considering the consequence of their actions, or in this case their words. This isn't the first time this has happened for an elected official, or anyone in the spotlight for that matter, be it school staff, police officer, etc. If you meant no ill will, then say it. It's not that difficult to understand that everyone comes at these particular issues with VERY subjective views on the matter. Some people will agree, some people won't, and other's won't give a shit.

I would ask the same thing. Why have they not staged coup when our government is ignoring almost every word on the Constitution. He should have double downed with his statement.
