Best character death?
It would have to that of LAPD Internal Affairs Det. John Chastain in the Michael Connelly novel Angels Flight...the words karmic justice do nothing to describe how good it was to see that character meet the grisly death that he did.
I don't usually deal with violent deaths in works fiction.
But I Have.
The only character in one of my own stories that met an end that was particularly satisfying was in the adult horror novel. In the second part of the trilogy of stories that make up "LeatherWings" the main character is picked up in a bar by a wanna-be cowboy who takes her out and tries to rape her.
The lady in question is no 'lady'. She quite dramatically turns the tables on him and leaves him a quivering mass of bleeding flesh that she then dumps off shore.
To say, "he had it coming" would be a bit much considering what happened to him, but, yeah, it'll do.
The book is available For Free through a link in the "adult" section.
