My Cockatiel birds laid some eggs! At 1st there was only two eggs. I put a box in the cage a few days ago so the mama bird can have privacy with her two eggs, I just checked in there today & there was a 3rd egg in there!

I hope they hatch & we get little baby birds.

UPDATE: There is 4 eggs now!

UPDATE FEBRUARY 23RD

Just checked right now. Up to six eggs now!!!

UPDATE MARCH 3RD

9 eggs now

UPDATE MARCH 7TH

[font=tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif]11 eggs now, Im tired of taking pictures of the amounts of eggs, you know what they look like.

[font=tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif]Final UPDATE March 24th:

Well I figure I have 2 female birds. The eggs were never fertilized which is why they never hatched. I cracked a couple open to see if there was a bird forming in there or not. It just looked like a egg you'd buy from the store & eat.. with a yoke and egg white..

So I threw them all out.

I figure there were so many eggs because they were both laying them & with no male around to fertialze the eggs, there is no point in having a nesting box and all that. I'm glad I took it out because the box took up the entire bottom of the cage and all the bird crap was accumulating on top of the box & starting to stink. Now the crap can fall into its normal place (the newspapers on the bottom of the cage) and I can keep their cage clean again.

This is awesome! Hopefully the mamma can sit on the eggs to give them warmth. Otherwise, you might need another source of warmth. Do you have a vet in your area that specializes in birds? If so, ask them what you need to be doing.

I'll probably do that. I'm sure I can find info on the interweb's too

I hope you find the info you need and all the eggs hatch!

Probably sell them EE.

I just checked and there is a 4th egg in there!!

OMG! There is no way Mamma is going to be able to sit on all these eggs to keep them warm!

These eggs need to be in an incubator.

I hope they make it and hatch! Which one is the Mamma?

Ginger (refer to other thread linked in the 2nd post for pic)..

Im pretty sure she is the female because she is the only one I see going into the box.

Oh my goodness! I hope this is the last egg. Is Ginger sitting on the eggs?

I think Nebulous is a bad influence on these birds. They just keep wanting to mate....
