A California family claims their live-in nanny refuses to leave their home even though she was fired.

Marcela and Ralph Bracamonte, who have three children, told CBS that they hired Diane Stretton through Craigslist in March.

They claim that after two months, she stopped working and spent time in her room in the family's apartment in Upland in San Bernardino County.

When they attempted to fire her, Ms Stretton, 64, would not leave, they claim.

Police said they could not do anything because she has to be legally evicted.

They took her to court but a judge said the paperwork the couple filed was wrong on a technicality and had to be filed again.

"This lady is welcome inside my house, anytime she wants, to eat my food anytime she wants and harass me basically," Marcela Bracamonte told CBS.

"I'm now a victim in my home and it's completely legal."

What would you do to get this woman out of your house?

Reason number fourteen NOT to hire a live in nanny and to raise your own damned kids.

Just pretend this happened to you. How would you get her out of your house?

I'd set off bug bombs and "smoke her out" then change the locks. :P

I say more power to her. That's what these people get for hiring a live-in nanny off of craigslist.

I can't believe they cannot have her arrested for trespassing and removed. Or, given what's going on, have her removed by the paramedics for mental health evaluation.

If you got fired from a factory and went back in without permission, that's what would happen.

BUT, this IS California where, evidently, private property is anything but.
