Next President of the USA

I'm not defending Sharia Law... I think all religious doctrines are absolutely disgusting.

It simply seemed as though Mr. Nugent was advocating the prevention of immigration by Muslims and in general just hating on Arabs.

The conclusion was to outlaw Sharia... which I could see as understandable, but I think if it really came to anything (which I don't think it will) in the United States I think that any kind of attempt to institute Sharia would be struck down under the separation of church and state.

I find it absurd that people actually think that these kinds of doctrines could become laws in the United States. (Especially considering how racist everyone is toward Arabs here).

EDIT: And as far as Olbermann's comments go, they are understandable considering the kind of rhetoric coming from Tea Party protesters and the Tea Party itself. I would never make such a characterization, but it is true that there are a fair amount of Tea Party members who are overtly racist.

Major teachers union endorses Obama's re-election

CHICAGO (AP) -- The nation's largest education union has endorsed President Barack Obama's 2012 re-election campaign.

Members of the National Education Association voted to support Obama on Monday at their annual convention in Chicago.

In a statement, NEA President Dennis Van Roekel says Obama and the union share a vision and members wanted early and strong support to help his election.

The endorsement comes a day after Vice President Nebulous Biden addressed thousands of educators at the convention.

Would this count as another broken promise?

Probably not.

U.S. willing to leave 10,000 troops in Iraq past year's end, officials say

Reporting from Washington and Baghdad— The White House is prepared to keep as many as 10,000 U.S. troops in Iraq after the end of the year, amid growing concern that the planned pullout of virtually all remaining American forces would lead to intensified militant attacks, according to U.S. officials.

Mr. Obama's base is a bit upset...

During a sometimes-raucous session of what's being called the For the People Jobs Initiative tour, a key member of the Congressional Black Caucus told an audience in Detroit Tuesday that the CBC doesn't put pressure on President Obama because he is loved by black voters. But at the same time, Rep. Maxine Waters said, members of the CBC are becoming increasingly tired and frustrated by Obama's performance on the issue of jobs. Even as she expressed support for the president, Waters virtually invited the crowd to unleash us to pressure Obama for action.

We don't put pressure on the president, Waters told the audience at Wayne County Community College. Let me tell you why. We don't put pressure on the president because ya'll love the president. You love the president. You're very proud to have a black man -- first time in the history of the United States of America. If we go after the president too hard, you're going after us.

I do think Obama will get a second term but does it really matter ?

The US people will complain about anyone whose elected.

And I thought baseball was America's pastime ?

Right now, just based on my own long term political analysis that goes back to Jimmy Carter's re-election effort (the Rose Garden 'non-'campaign, as it were)...

Right Now, it is still Obama's job to lose. He still has the media setting fire to every serious contender for the Republican ticket (you've got to love Letterman's hatchet job on Bachman's hair), and fawning over his every move and statement, although it is to a lesser extent than a couple of years ago.

The polling numbers have fallen, true, but historically, the polls don't sample O's core base, liberal blacks who will vote for him no matter what, and there are still plenty of moderates to those slightly left of moderate who will vote for him again.

It might be close, but at least for right now, Mr. Obama will still re-elected in 2012.

Of course the President's own supporters continue to lead the way with the kinder, gentler, rhetoric

Hoffa Threatens GOP At Obama Event: Let's Take These Son Of Bitches Out

Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa had some profane, combative words for Republicans while warming up the crowd for President Obama in Detroit, Michigan on Monday.

We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They've got a war, they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner. It's going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We're going to win that war, Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said to a heavily union crowd.

President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong, Hoffa added.

Obama was due to speak shortly after Hoffa addressed the crowd.
