Next President of the USA

Well it would decrease the deficit..

But that's not a position I'm advocating. I think our defense budget is trillions of dollars larger than it should be.

Of the current crop of bozos, who would that be?
I am in no way qualified to judge this as I don't know and have not studied any of them, however I'll hazard a guess and say none of them.

If you say the system is flawed and must be changed you shouldn't put people from the old system into the new one as they would no longer be qualified. Probably.

The defense of the country is mandated in the Constitution.

Most of the social programs which make up the bulk of the budget are not.

There are several versions of the graph, these will do....

Why do you act as if the constitution even matters that much anymore?

All that is respected about it is a few main principles these days.

I happen to like those main principals.

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Yeah, well some main principles need to be added, the world has changed in the past 200 years believe it or not.

The Devil you say....

Anyway.

Those are called- Amendments.

Such as the one that outlawed Slavery, submitted to the States for Ratification by Lincoln....

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a

punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted,

shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their

jurisdiction.

I know, but its pretty much impossible to get a 2/3's majority on anything that will force any real change these days. Too much gridlock.

Ron Paul is a nut. I used to like him, but I simply disagree with him too much on economic issues and the role of government in an established nation-state.

His view of the role of government is outdated by at least a couple hundred years.

All of that aside....

It is STILL the Economy, Stupid.

And this is NOT from those vile evil haters at Fox.

The Indiana Exception? Yes, but...

INDIANAPOLIS — Gov. Mitch Daniels sits in his grand cave of a Renaissance Revival office and reviews Indiana’s economic fortunes, his self-effacing manner not entirely disguising satisfaction. The state’s pension funds are relatively healthy, the unemployment rate is dropping slowly and per capita income is ticking up, slowly.

Such bragging rights are steps toward his goal, Mr. Daniels says, of overcoming Indiana’s image as a “nondescript” state.

“Look, people think fiscal solvency, they think Indiana,” he says. “People think great business climate, Indiana comes to mind. People think infrastructure, we’re exactly who they think of.”

Because recessionary winds have not toppled Indiana’s house, this state is often overlooked in the news coverage of budget crises across the nation — particularly since its next-door neighbor Illinois offers such an outsize example of the financial ills afflicting state and local budgets.

But Indiana is no world apart, even if Mr. Daniels would like to suggest it is. Large cracks have opened in its economic foundation, a sign of just how severe the downturn remains.

Why are you wanting me to read a bunch of racist crap?

And you are basing your statement that his articles are racist on what?

The fact that he is a conservative?

And that, according to various sources, such as MSNBC, which I have posted a link to a clip of theirs before, that ALL conservatives are racists?

And that therefore, Since I am one of the more conservative members of this forum, that I must be a racist as well.

Well?

's not crap, not all of it.

I can't say I agree with everything the guy wrote, but the conclusion was sensible.

No, not the fact that he's conservative, but his demonization of people of the Muslim faith. And the outright rejection of multiculturalism and the refusal to accept multiculturalism as a transitional state. Assimilation takes time, and the biggest driving factor for assimilation is education.

In case you didn't notice, those who subscribe to Sharia reject multiculturalism even more profoundly than Mr. Nugent. To the point of executing any of their own people who convert to Christianity, are homosexual, or do anything else that even hints of western influence. And that is what they have planned for us by their own admission on Al Jazera and other outlets.

I don't think the Motor City Madman wants to behead Spanish speaking vegetarian homosexuals in the town square, but I may be wrong about that.

If you can post a quote of his advocating that, I'd appreciate it.

But in the mean time, of course it is only conservatives that blindly hate and spout it off on TV.

A good and true liberal would never do that.
