Have you ever had a person show up at your house and you pretended you weren't home?

Nope, I have pretended that I was asleep when people knocked on my dorm room though. They usually want to use my printer and that can be annoying.

Yeah. But not for awhile now. I know I've done it plenty of times with someone calling my house phone.

Yeah but mostly on Halloween. I'm sure the reason is obvious

I've done it plenty of times, especially if it's someone wanting to sell something.

I've done it too when there was a knock on the door and looked out to see a strange car in my driveway. No way was I going to answer or let them know I was home. I do have a radio playing even when I'm not home just so someone would think twice about trying to break in.

Whenever a Jehovah witness comes, I always pretend I'm not home.

Last time I opened the door for one, they came in (without asking), sat down, and we had a religious debate for the next two hours.

Never letting that happen again.

Yeah, and or I tell my parents to tell them I'm not home, I usually like going out with my friends however, I am tired often as well.

Not really pretended, just did not answer the door. They will go away eventually.

*dusts off thread*

You can always tell them no and close the door in their face. They won't stick around.

All the time, especially as a single woman living in the city. I only answer the door if I know someone is coming over or I recognize one of my neighbors.

Not if I know the person, but a few times when I got up to open the door and noticed they were selling something or similar, I just turned back and didn’t open it.
I didn’t really care if they knew I was home or not.

I've done it when I I've looked out the window and saw that it wasn't anyone I wanted to talk to because they're going door to door.
