My wife said both of them from the early games Friday will be putting in for the Referee's Protection Program.



So far, today's games are OK that way.



Japan just blew it this morning. That puts the Netherlands in the next round and leaves that group's second spot wide open.

That's an okay result, and Ghana scored from a penalty due to a handball. The worst thing is, Harry Kewell was sent off with a red card for the handball, which you can see below.







Rubbish. Now we have to win the next game against Serbia, and hope Ghana can beat Germany or be absolutely destroyed by Germany. I've got my fingers crossed.

Possible Scenarios for the ALL WHITES:

WIN

If the All Whites beat Paraguay they go through.

LOSE

If the All Whites lose, they go out.

DRAW

If the All Whites draw, the winner of Italy v Slovakia goes through.

But if that game is also a draw, then whoever has a higher scoring draw out of NZ and Italy goes through. (For example, If NZ draw 2-2 and Italy draw 1-1, the All Whites go through.)

If NZ and Italy both draw by the same score, then a name will be picked out of a hat by FIFA to see who goes through.

If the All Whites beat Paraguay they go through.
