What's a good example of a really old technology we still use today?

What are some of your favorite classic inventions?

Doc your first image isnt working. Might be helpful if you use words to communicate. :P

Favourites? Well, those first two are rather nice... as well as domestication and architecture.

How is fire a technology? It's something that can naturally occur :|

I have an 8 track player in my bedroom that I STILL use as a radio. Don't have any 8 tracks though.

I use cups tied together with string to communicate. :P

But seriously.
- Telephone
- Radio
- Television
- Standard household appliances that are old :P

Fire was not "invented". But the control, and use, and ability to make it on demand, were. Exactly the same as electricity and running water.

And the use of fire is one of the defining moments in what divides 'man' from everything that walked the planet before.

As the image in the post was of an artificially produced blaze, and not a forest fire sparked by lightning or a volcanic eruption, then yes, it belongs on the list.

As does what the use of fire enabled.
