What are some of the pro's and con's of online dating in your opinion?
Are you for or against it?
Have you ever done it?
What are your opinions about online dating in general?

My mum wants me to sign up to some agencies online but I really do not want to, I prefer to meet someone in person and for it to happen naturally.

I have been on casual sites in the past (Face Party) and I have been on dates through that but it never works out or the guy turns out to be a right knob.

Online dating is one thing I don't trust, and find ridiculous in my opinion. If I wanted a girlfriend, I can just see her face-to-face.

Everyone is different though and want different things from relationships so perhaps an online one suits them perfectly.

I have no problems with it, do what you want :)

Fair enough. I'm just dubious about these kind of things.

I met my GF through the internet, but it was just a couple emails back and forth then we met up. It wasn't a long drawn out thing where expectations didn't get blown out of proportion. We got to know each other well after we met face to face and discovered that we were a match, meshed well, had things in common, liked each other, etc etc
...I think when people chat online for an extended period of time without meeting, they create their own idea of what their potential mate is going to be, when they meet in person, someone usually doesn't live up to the fantasy.

I guess it's worked out for some people, Nebulous included, but personally I wouldn't do it
I'd rather meet someone in real life
