Peer pressure refers to the influence exerted by a peer group in encouraging a person to change his or her attitudes, values, or behavior in order to conform to group norms. The person under peer pressure feel like they need to be in this group to be cool or in.

Has this ever happened to you? If so, what's the worst thing you did just to be considered cool or in?

Yes it has, when I was younger in primary school and early secondary school. The worst thing I did was change the way I dress I suppose, not that you can really call that bad.

I've experienced it, but resisted it. I'm not going to change what I do and do stuff just to seem cool. I am what I am. Take it or leave it.

It happened to me in high school. I wanted to be cool like the other girls, so one day I smoked a cigarette with them. My dad smelled the smoke on me when I got home. As a punishment, he made me smoke one of his Cuban cigars. Half way through, I threw up all over the place. I have never touched a cigarette again and I guess in a way, that cool group taught me a valuable lesson.

High school too. A few of the girls on our cheerleading squad brought cherry and blueberry cigars to practice. Awful. We coughed through practice and our coach thought we were all coming down with colds at the same time. Crazy nobody thought to wait until after practice to try them.

I've been one to be stubbornly resistant to peer pressure, something I almost regret, because doing something stupid in response to peer pressure tends to be a shared experience - a social compare to how soldiers fight together in a war. Since I wasn't stupid enough most of the time to cave into that, I've probably had a lot less common experiences amongst my peer group than most, and strangely enough, at times I was cited as being what is called a 'trendsetter', which is a type of individual that tends to set the standard for the peers to follow (and then pressure other peers to follow).

Never needed much pressure to do things. I was probably the one pressuring others to do stuff.

Nebulous was a bad kid.

...well yes, but 'person'...can really extend to beyond Humanity. Something with advanced intelligence and sentience could be classified as a 'person'.

So, given your ability to commune and interact with us - it would seem you could be considered a person - a fringe inclusion, yes, but I think a legitimate one.

Too pious a trait for me - I'm waiting for you to descend several levels into the darkness I inhabit. A place that would make Diablo cry.
