So last night, or well earlier this morning I suppose I could say. I finally get in bed. Yet I have an obstacle in my way. One Tori The Charpai. Now I don't have a problem with her being in my bed. Its the fact she was laying on my cover. And even after several times of telling her to get off. She still didn't do it. Its like she's either hard of hearing or just doesn't get what I'm saying. Even after I get under what cover I can get under, she still doesn't move!

So anyways, ever have a situation like this where your pet just doesn't seem to get it?

...can't you just lift her?

I never even thought about it. Think that would have been more trouble then what I needed at the time. o.0

It's not Tori who doesn't get it, it's you who doesn't get it. When a dog is doing something you don't want them to be doing, there needs to be a consequence when they don't obey you. In this case, you should have picked her up and got her off the bed and closed the door. By allowing her to get her own way, she's never going to listen to you. I will bet this is not the first time this has happened. Am I correct?

Oh, thanks. That actually does help me. And yeah, its not the first time its happened. But its been awhile since the last time.

How frequently does this happen, and is the animal older or younger? If it is an older animal, and this is a more recent reoccurence, there could be health issues beyond behavioural. Jazzy's word is right on the mark regarding incentive/consequence motivations, though.

As for pet experiences of that nature on my behalf, I haven't had much in that way, but Poms are a hard breed to teach fetching and returning, I can tell ya' that (It's not inherently in their nature...).
