Unless admins install PM logs to monitor all messages through the private message system, the messages are private.DrLeftover said:Nothing on the web... no let me rephrase that....
NOT A DAMNED THING...
on the web, is Private.
It's no ones business what's going on in them except the members involved in the PM. If a member is being harassed or is receiving PM advertising, it's up to the member to report it to the admin or staff member. When reported, that's when the member has decided to involve an outside party.Crusader said:I think it's a good tool to keep an eye on things because who knows what's going on in them unless you can see them?

The member reporting forwards the PM to a staff member. You can now read what has been going on and why the member has reported it. The next step would be for a staff member to contact the member being reported and ask if they have any information they'd like to forward for review. If not, then you can only base your decision on the facts that were presented.Crusader said:Jazzy said:It's no ones business what's going on in them except the members involved in the PM. Often there can be two sides to a story. Per say to members are having an altercation, one decides to report it and I act on that report without seeing what that person has been saying to the one they reported. So to make sure I make a fair decision I want to see the whole story. If that makes sense.
Obviously this is an unlikely occurrence but it is still a good idea to be prepared etc.

You can't assume anything. You have to deal with the information that was reported.Crusader said:Jazzy said:The member reporting forwards the PM to a staff member. Assuming they haven't been removing the quotes from each PM?
Not really. They're not exactly encrypted, MyBB simply doesn't offer you an easy way of reading them.Jazzy said:Unless admins install PM logs to monitor all messages through the private message system, the messages are private.
