Pregnant Ferguson woman loses her EYE after police shoot her car with bean bag during violent protests.

A pregnant woman is now blind in her left eye after being hit by glass that shattered when police in Ferguson, Missouri, tackling Michael Brown protesters, shot at the window of the car she was in.

Dornella Conner says she was at a gas station in the St Louis suburb in a car being driven by her boyfriend when an officer fired a non-lethal ‘bean bag’ round at them as they tried to drive away, showering her with glass.

Conner has lost sight in her left eye and has blurry vision in the other following the incident on Tuesday at New Halls Ferry Road.

Police, who were responding to reports of gunshots in the area, said that the officer fired at the car because it was being driven towards him and he feared for his safety – but Conner claims that he had no need to use a weapon on them.

She told Kmov.com: ‘I didn’t have any weapons, I wasn’t looting or anything. I was just out with my boyfriend. We was just riding around respecting Mike Brown.’

Conner told the news channel that several police vehicles had blocked their exit from the gas station ‘from the side and the back’.

Conner’s father, Donnell, said he was ‘very disappointed at police tactics’. He added: ‘There was no reason to fire upon an innocent person who was sitting in a vehicle.’
Her sister, who goes by the name Tikal Goldie, said: ‘I really just want to have closure and justice for my sister.’

"We was just riding around respecting Mike Brown" Um,... yeah.

Your thoughts?

Excuse me, I smell something here.

You ain't the only one, Doc...

LOL, what are you guys going to accuse her of taking her own eye out or something ridiculous?

Seriously, this whole thing could have been avoided if a cop wasn't so freaking trigger happy.

Where's the cop that shot at her car?

Where's the CNN video? The Huffington Report photos? The NYT Story?

Any officer that discharges their weapon in the line of duty has to account for said rounds fired. They sign out "so many" at the beginning of their shift, they have to account for ALL of them. And, yes, the armory officer checks to see if the weapon has been fired. And given the microscope and anal probe that town has been under for the last month....

No. It Didn't Happen.

It is more likely the car window was broken by a brick thrown by a member of The Community. And she is looking to add fuel to the fire, and get on TV.

Oh, well.

Or, you know, it could've been covered up so the cop doesn't look bad in the wake of the shit storm that has been this investigation and subsequent verdict. Who knows, though? When the cops want something covered up, they have the right people to turn to. Then again, it could've been a rock or a brick coming through the window from a rioter as well.

I was talking about the one that murdered Michael Brown in the first place...So, yeah, my point kinda still stands.

Listen, this damn Michael Brown stuff is getting old. Now because of one Cop mistake, people are coming up from corners and sh*t, places all over, standing up and saying all police are over brutal. That brutality is a problem, well guess what, before Michael Brown, brutality on the force was still the same thing. Common. It won't stop either, if anything, us flipping them the bird and rebelling, is going to make it worse.

Think real world problems, in the poor countries, there is no police force or the police force is a lot worse, they cuff you and throw you in a damn 6X6 room, with crappy food and will leave you in there until your dead or insane.

So yes, police do sometimes abuse authority, but if you try to keep your damn nose out of trouble, mind your business, 99% of the time, they will leave you alone and 90% of the time if you do have to deal with them, they are pretty reasonable.

Not in my experiences.
Maybe reduce that to 79% for minorities.

Bam! Logic prevails!

I can't really comment I guess, I'm Canadian and the cops down here are a lot more easier going and peaceful. I'm no means a minority standing at a Italian-Canadian race.
