What are the pros and cons of using social media?

Pros: Finding someone you don't have contact with for a very long time.

Cons: Exposure. People judge you for what you have in your profile.

Pros - it can be a great way to share with families

Cons- Addicting, time consuming, FOMO

Pros: Keeping up with events & friends, good for promoting business
Cons: Privacy, teaches people they can be correct about something if they just block a contradicting voice, far too easy to spread misinformation, etc

All the reasons why I don't have Social Media. I experienced this with friends and family. These are some major factor as of why I quit Facebook and Twitter. If you post something, you're friends with someone, or you like something. You can get harassed and shamed for it.

Pros: Being connected to people halfway around the world. Keeping in touch better (maybe!) with friends. Having a more personal connection with people you wouldn't get the chance to speak to otherwise (authors, actors, musicians, etc.). Possibly being more aware of current and global events.

Cons: feelings of jealousy, insecurity, inadequacy, cyber-bullying, societal pressures, etc.

Pros: Keeping in touch with family & friends. A one-stop shopping where people go to keep in contact.
Very well-known.
Cons: A lot of judgement. People rely on the LIKES way too much. If somebody doesn't like their post, they think something is wrong with them as a person.
