When are you hoping to retire from your job? Do you think you'll retire completely or find a part-time job or gig?

I'm 35 and it has dawned on me that I do need to set up an IRA. I would like to retire someday. No question about it.

I've got another 18 years to go before I can retire with full Federal benefits. After I retire, I'd like to do volunteer work at an animal shelter. I'm not the type that can just sit home and do nothing.

I quit my job about 6 years ago and my husband has probably 11 more years to work before he'll retire. He has no hobbies so I told him that he can't quit working until he gets a hobby. I have tons of things I like to do so I'm never bored.

They say you are pretty screwed if not started by 30 if not sooner. But who knows if I can even retire in 30 years (I'm currently 31).
