Well, being a new admin and all I just wanted to ask you guys for advice and maybe tell you a little bit of what I've learned while opening my forum. First of all, it's a lot harder then you think... It's not just common sense I can tell you that right now! There are a lot of things to take into consideration such as getting members to join, keeping them happy after joining, adding new content constantly, and just running the forum in general like getting rid of spam and stuff. The most important thing I've learned tho is that you, the admin, have to love what you're doing, because if you think of it as work then that's exactly what it will turn into... So choose the theme of your board wisely for it can destroy you! Haha <3

Great advice Karrit and it's also important to pick your staff carefully. You want moderators that not only moderate but are constantly on the board creating new threads and posting. I just quit being a moderator at a forum I was on for over a year. I got sick and tired of being the only moderator creating new and interesting threads while the other moderators just sat back and did nothing to attract new members

Any forum should be fun and as you stated if you think of it as work, it's not going to work. I wish you the best of luck with your new forum and I think you'll be a success. You have dedication and just make sure your staff does as well.

Haha thanks man and I will. I just fired a lot of my elites due to inactivity and promoted my most dedicated ones to take their place. I feel as though the dedicated members should run the forum. not my personal friends. Plus they all have their own successful boards so none of them really had time for Aloomineyum. But I feel like the promotions and demotions are just what I needed to get re-motivated. Now when I make an announcement in the staff section I actually get responses and advice back. <3 I'm excited for my big revamp sunday... Gunna be shweet!
