How do you get around sales phone calls? Are you subscribed to a blocking list? Do some still come through? If they do ow o you get rid of them, a polite no thank you or something else?

My mother got so many in one night she screamed down the phone. Scared the living bigezzers outta me.

I am registered with the U.S National Do Not Call Registry. This is for both my land line and mobile phone. The calls have stopped with the exception of a few here and there. Another thing I do is for any phone numbers I don't recognize, I let the call go to voice mail.

For this service in Canada, click here.

For more information about this service in the U.K., click here.

Me too. But I still get calls from bill collectors and whatnot. I can save any number and have that number go straight to voicemail so my phone doesn't ring when they call.

We have a " Do Not call List " which sometimes works more often it doesn't. The best method to get rid of these unwanted asshole's is keeping a police whistle close in hand or simply hanging up.

You get an unwanted call and you start blowing on a whistle? Doesnt seem like it would be too effective. :P

I have a real simple solution every unwanted call or number I get....I simply ignore it
And we also have a Do Not Call site where I live.

I needed money when I was younger so I took a job in a call center. I worked for minimum wage and got a 5% commission on every sale I could make. I got sick of people screaming, cursing and slamming the phone in my face. I quit after two weeks and never did make a sale. Since I've done this type of work before, I realize these people are only trying to make money by doing their job. For this reason, I just let any unknown number go to voice mail.
