Disgusting, I live in a village, not a city, and the school is extremely poor and small, the burgers are green, the hot dogs aswell. Very disgusting.

There is state laws and whatnot.. If your burgers are acutally green (due to rotten meat) then the school can be fined BIG TIME.

My school's food is actually not bad. I eat lunch in the cafeteria every day.

Not everyone likes it, but most people do, and high school gets more options than middle and elementary school.

There are actually days when we all race to the lunch line because of what we're having...we can just say <insert food name here> day and if it's one of the more popular foods, we'll be literally running down the hall to get in line first. XD

The best thing are the chicken sandwich and anything in the normal food line. Anything else doesn't taste that good.

The lunches were okay but very expensive so I started to bring my own lunch.

I got free lunch because I grew up on welfare.. Was embarrassing when I got to middle school because they had a line for the snack bar / good food and then they had the line for people getting free lunch.

The only thing I remember that was good was the mashed potatoes and turkey gravy..

Hot lunches served by the schools started when I was in about the fifth grade. Before that everybody brought theirs from home. At first it was cooked by volunteer parents and grandparents and was pretty good. Then they centralized production and it went downhill fast.

In high school they had the regular lunch that wasn't usually fit to eat, but if you got reduced price lunches you had to take it, then an a la cart line where you could get other stuff that was slightly better.

I actually missed the 'pizza burgers' when I went to college. They were the best thing on the menu.

The college cafeteria where I went is a good testament to the power of student organizations. The first contractor sold crap at premium prices, we boycotted, the administration booted them. The next outfit was a little better for a little while, then they started to go downhill too, then the school took it over and ran it itself. The quality wasn't a lot better, but the prices were lower.

I guess it's the nature of the beast.

In Elementary and middle school it sucked and milk with everything, yuck. Got to high school, Domino's was an option if we wanted.

We never had food at school. I'm not entirely sure about the current situation, but I imagine it's quite similar.

Usually, most schools would have something like a kiosk. It wasn't officially affiliated with the school and mostly sold popular snacks like chocolates, chips, and drinks. Most students would have lunch at home. That seemed to be the norm in most places that I'm familiar with.

I remember that I always brought my food to school. My mom always took her time to ensure that I had the best food as well. One that my classmates always wished that they brought to school.

I used to love the school lunches at school but I heard that they have changed drastically over the years since I was there and they don't get anything like what we used to.

I used to love the fact you got cooked meals that were nutritious.

It was okay when I went to school. According to my own kids, it's pretty bad over at the middle school.

It was like 4 bucks for a chicken sandwich and fries but those were delicious back then.

I never once ate lunches from the school cafeteria.
From kindergarten to high school, I packed a lunch, then the last couple years I just stopped eating period.

I don't know, I brought my lunch except for the few times I bought the pizza in elementary school.
