Do you thing some people are abusing the use of service animals?

Service animal users often enter stores, restaurants, etc., taking with them their service dog. Most establishments disallow pets, but they allow service dogs. In most cases, it's often illegal to ask too many questions to determine if the service animal is really there for their medical issues or not.

Do you think most people are telling the truth, or are they just wanting to bring their dog with them everywhere?

I don't know about 'most' people, but absolutely an awful lot of people abuse this rule.
To take your dog/puppy with you to some non-food handling establishments who don't frown upon this practice in order to socialize the dog & make it more friendly to various sorts of public is great. Some businesses actually encourage this by giving the pup a 'cookie'.
But the little old ladies at restaurant tables with their little kick-me dog in their lap, or the teeny-boppers who have their cute little Pomeranian tucked in their shirts in the supermarket, etc.
................service animal ?????????? gimme a break!!

I love it when they come into a store with the small dog in the seat of the cart they're pushing, while they're on the phone. Like, we both know that's not a service dog but even if we could say something to you about it, they'd just go and cry to corporate.
