Should assisted suicide be legalized?

Great question.. you know, science and medicine have done a great job at extending life, but society has not done a great job managing the quality of life. Being alive, and living are two different things, and I think that people have a right to die with dignity.

I don't like the term 'suicide' in this topic of debate, because suicide brings in a whole number of different arguments into the equation, but I do believe that if someone's quality of life has diminished to the point (mostly for health reasons) then they should have the right to choose how they depart from the world.

Yes, assisted suicide be legalized. I think those who have a terminal illness and are in great pain should have the right to choose to end their lives with dignity. We don’t let animals suffer, so why should we let humans?

This. I believe it should be allowed for cases that are terminal/have absolutely no cure or treatment plan, and as long as most if not all resources are exhausted within the medical world (as long as the patient accepts treatment). In any case, I believe it should be legal, but the younger you get the more muddled it can be.

Sure if thats what they want as a adult. Just don't make them out to be some kind of brave hero like that woman several months ago was portrayed who just gave up on the precious time she had left with family and loved ones and killed herself with suicide.
