Should children be sheltered from technology as they grow up?

I don't think they should be sheltered from technology since the whole world relies on it to basically do everything. Now I do think they shouldn't be able to use a phone until they're older however, say like maybe 5 or 6. And even then they really need to be supervised.
Technology is part of our life now, like it or not. Depriving a child from technology is setting them up to fail when they're older. Having said that, I think they should have limits set on their screen time, etc. Don't let them be on it 24/7
