What's something a parent should NEVER do?

I would say have children, but since a person without a child isn't a parent, I'm gonna go with something else.

One of the things I've noticed parents just love to do is to demand respect from their kids by any means necessary, often involving physical and psychological torture (beating, yelling, revoking and denying privileges, etc.) to force their children to bow down to them and never even think about talking back.

I'd say this is something parent(s) should avoid doing in wide arch.

A parent should never molest their children / beat them / murder a child.

Police their child's relationships and actively isolate them from friends that the parents don't like. It's one thing for parents to have some control over who a very young child spends time with, or not let the child go certain places, or help them avoid someone they don't want to see, but if the child is almost an adult, they can choose their friends for themselves.
