Solicitors at your house?

I get them ALL THE TIME at my house. People ringing my doorbell wanting to sell me something or trying to sign me up for something. It gets old. It just happened 30 seconds ago which is why I am creating this thread.

Thankfully I have a doorbell camera so I can just check my phone to see who is out there without having to get up. I don't even answer the door for these people. The worst is when they bring their kids with them to try to get that sympathy factor.

How do you handle solicitors who come to your house and try to sign you up for stuff or sell you something?

Most of the time I just don't answer, but if I do I'll tell them straight away I'm not interested or that I rent. Gets rid of them instantly

When I lived in the hood I never seen them. Now that I am in a nice neighborhood they are always coming around. They probably get better results in an area like this as opposed to other places I've lived.

Same here, we live in a posh neighborhood, but we're far from well off. Everyone around us is driving Mercedes, BMWs, flashing their fancy shoes around all the time...boggles the mind!

Usually the new people who move into the neighborhood are really well off. Anyone who can afford to buy a house for what they're currently selling for has to have some serious cash!

Oh absolutely the same here. We moved in about 3 years ago and the houses have gone up easily 2-3x under this new market boom...absolutely ridiculous!

So THAT'S why we have had only one solicitor in the three years that we have lived here.

It works. We don't get a lot of people trying to sell us shit. It's mostly idiots trying to peddle religious messages.

I deny them in the end but I'm open to engage with them at first, just to hear what they have to say, even if it's useless cause why not? I even tried to give one a chocolate cause they seemed exhausted, to which they had a weird reaction to.
