Do you ever play games with the sound off? Maybe put some music on instead?

Do you think some games have terrible sound effects and background music?

I do sometimes. The music / sound effects on the games are okay but sometimes I'd rather listen to something else.

Only with MMOs really. Even if the game's music is awesome, after 1k hours in I'm bored with it.

Lol, 1000 hours is a loooong time to listen to something. :P

I always play games with the sound at a medium level. Music while playing a game just doesn't feel right for me.

Does to me. You don't need to hear the game sounds to play :P

Depends on the game I suppose. :P

This tbh, If you're playing a multiplayer shooter there's no need for ingame sound. MMOs are the same if you've been through everything story-wise. For a lot of platform games where everything's in text boxes anyway you can mute it. Stuff like the sims you can mute as well... Basically any game where story telling isn't the focus.

I don't think I've ever turned it all off. I have turned off the background music for a few games so I could listen to something else. League of Legends and Civilization spring to mind.

...YOU SUPPOSE? Practically every game has VOICES!

Actually, voices only became a big thing in the late 90s, when the PS1/N64 were around. Even then, a great deal of games on those platforms weren't voiced.
