Speak Free or Die!

Liberty for President?

run-for-your-life-o.gif

The secret service would be mighty busy with me in charge. I would proudly be the most hated president by the left ever.

what did the founders do and accomplished? since you were there and have the knowledge to speak of such people...

how knowledgeable do you really think you are about such subjects?

do you know what the world and the underground was back then?

do you know who the founders were and were associated with?

You really do make me chuckle at times. And this may be up there as the best.

But yes I do thanks to historians researching the HUGE archives of info the founders documenting everything they did. The founders knew they would all be part of history with people judging them and each had thousands and thousands of pages of daily journals. Family and close friends had journals who were in there lives. Historians can just about track there daily lives and all the mundane things they did. But even before they knew they would be apart of history they kept detailed journals.

The Civil War ended in 1865; Woodrow Wilson became POTUS in 1912. "The Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798", a set of 4 laws, was under John Adams' reign; former president George Washington supported it.

And I have heard Washington supported the act but his own words he had doubts this was a good idea.

At the General Assembly of Rhode Island Washington said it would have to be seen whether Congress would "play out the ethical applications to of these laws." It would only be in their unethical application that their existence would become improper.

And I have heard Washington supported the act but his own words he had doubts this was a good idea...

Oh. Well, then...YOU win and defer to your first-hand knowledge.

I am not too proud to admit that I wasn't alive to hear President Washington's own words, as they left his lips. I'm impressed at your age...AND that you were such a close, personal confidant of his.

Any other of our forefathers you personally rubbed elbows with, Mr. Name-Dropper?

The moment I read that, my friend, this came to mind:

Me and George or I liked to call him Georgie were tighter then a Hydraulic press. I once said Georgie, you gotta be a part of that whole creating a Constitution thing. Of course he listened. ;)

@ webber:

Is there some reason that, come lately, whenever I ask a question of/respond to a post made by a TruLibby, YOU respond for him? Are you two *like* joined at the hip? Or, is it that you share the same, remaining, working, two brain cells so speaking to one is as good as answering for the other?

TruLibby's a big boy, now...you should let him speak for himself.

:tup2:

You see Webster this is when the tactics come out to try and silence others opinions.

:wtf:

"Restating a fact, which is clearly visible and still there in black-and-white" = "a tactic"?!?

Yeah...I'm *like* the MacGyver of Online Tactics, and shit.

You've ascribed strange meanings for words, after consulting the numerous voices in your head who completely agree with your new definitions of stuff.

This is a common tactic in online discussions that should feel very familiar to some people. I don't just see Webster and TL backing each other up and speaking for each other around here.

Anyway,

As for freedom of speech we can say whatever we want, sure...

but (depending on what was said) we should be prepared for the reactions and consequences for those words, we don't get immunity from that because of our free speech.

Not much of a fact but what you did is trying to embarrass or shame a poster which is a tactic to shut them down.

Since you quoted me, I'll presume you are directing your response AT me, since that's the way it's done, online.

There is a world of difference between "agreeing with someone"/"sharing the same opinion as someone" and "answering for someone". A TruLibby stated that "a leftist president" did such-and-such. I questioned A TruLibby as to whom he was referring; Webber answered for him.

Unless they share the same brain cell(s), there is no way for him to have known to which "leftist president" A TruLibby was referring, as according to them, anyone who doesn't agree 100% with them is "leftist" and just one potato plant short of being a full-blown Commie.

By the way, on privately-owned websites such as this one, there is no such thing as "Freedom of Speech"; FOS applies to government-owned and -run institutions. The swaying-with-the-breeze access to Freedom of Speech on privately-owned websites is also obvious when, oh-let's-say, [male] Moderators are allowed to post memes AT another poster, stating that that particular poster is so stupid she should set herself on fire

and then when they are publicly called on making such a public statement specifically at another poster, simply lock down the thread and then make it disappear, almost *like* it never happened.

As I told you privately and now - since you've brought it here - I am publicly stating: I, personally, will NOT be on the receiving end of deliberate jabs and attempts at bashing by ANYone on this or any other site, invited or otherwise,

and simply sit and take it, no matter how hard as the owner and Mods of this site you'd like to MAKE that happen.

As you know, I don't have a passive-aggressive bone in my body and WILL always meet PA displays with aggressive-aggressive REsponses. If PAs don't like it, they should stop being passive-aggressive AT me. If they can't control themselves, it's my understanding there's a new, nifty "forced ignore" feature that can help them gain the control that eludes them.

In other words, one needs to stop re-writing The Rules to the game, just because one's getting beaten at the game one wanted to play. If one is not good enough TO win the game one wants to play, one needs to get better at it

or stop playing it to begin with.

Those are words to live by, *my friend* and not contained simply to virtual existences.

:drunk:

that's what i thought, you have no idea...

thank you for the confirmation...

HOW do you come up with this brilliance, @mrldii :jerry:

HA! One person's "brilliance" is another[man]'s "How dare this bitch not just sit and take it and dares to speak back to a man, publicly, no less!!!"

All depends on one's point-of-view, I suppose. Sooner or later, they'll get it...or, they'll simply keep getting it. Either way works for me. :tup2:

I like women who speak out publicly and loudly. Even if I think they are wrong on all things political. ;)

no, you do not know who the founders were and who they were associated with...

you can act like you do but you really don't, and i don't care how many diaries you read...

Sure I do along with millions of others who appreciate what they created thanks to the all the historians since our founding who have been studying the tens of thousands of pages of there writings down to daily weather readings. You could know our founders better then probably any other important figures in our past thanks to theres and others meticulous journals.
