(The Guardian) He picked a curious moment for it, but Republican House speaker Kevin McCarthy is out with a video in which he talks about some of the common ground he’s found with Democrats:

It’s not a long list, but the speaker has a point: there are a handful of issues on which the two parties can find unanimity, or at least bipartisanship. And there’s a good chance that one of the House’s biggest legislative tasks this year – agreeing to increase the debt ceiling – will be accomplished only with the support of at least some Democrats.

Where's the proof?

Given how everyone thought Kevin McCarthy would either be (a) a milquetoast for the Establishment and/or (b) a sop to the whackos of the House GOP, the fact they got a few things done this soon in the 118th Congress is a good thing.
