I feel deprived of watching certain shows because I can't afford to subscribe to everything. I'm ready to subscribe to nothing because of the costs. But I feel left behind when people talk about good shows.

It's definitely hard these days. I have quite a few streaming services still, but I had to cancel a few and downgrade to some lower ad-supported tiers on some. I'm thinking it may just be smarter to cancel and then re-subscribe to whatever one has something on it I want to watch for a month and then get rid of it again.

I have all the main streaming providers. I pay for amazon prime (its included in my phone bill) and paramount plus. Bae pays for Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, HBO Max.

If something is showing on a different streaming platform, I have my ways of watching it one way or another :evillaugh:

Currently I have Netflix and Amazon Prime. I've also signed up for Disney + as they're doing a promotion where your first three months are $1.99 a month. I'll probably cancel after that. I'd love to have HBO Max so I can watch Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon and Batman related stuff but I just can't afford it.

…I read a little while ago that Netflix was going to run the series, Band of Brothers…it’s something that I wasn’t able to watch when it was released so I was so excited to catch up because I’ve heard such amazing things about it…I was counting down the days …(…it was due to be released on 16 September…)…anyway, I checked Netflix on 16th and it wasn’t there…because apparently it’s only being released on Netflix USA ….EXcUSE ME YOU XENOPHOBIC MONsTErS at NETFlIX….!!!!!!….so our U.K. subscription money is good enough for you but you’re not giving us your full Netflix experience for that subscription….I’m a little bit cross and upset about it all…I can watch it on Amazon Prime but only if I buy it as an expensive extra when I already pay a subscription there also…I hate that these streaming companies are giving us so little in return for our subscriptions…

Enough said.

I feel for you. These billion dollar companies definitely take advantage of consumers - for example, Netflix increasing their subscription price during (and again after) COVID is a joke considering that they actually benefited from COVID. On top of that, they’ve removed a lot of good stuff over the years which makes it even less worth it. In terms of not being able to watch stuff without a subscription, I hope you know that there are other (free) means of doing so… if you know what I mean. ;)

Streaming is better than cable at least my provider plus the non commercial thing too but it can get expensive. Hulu and Paramount Plus are going up this/next month. Still, I enjoy getting to watch programs that I like.
