Stuck in a rut

When was the last time you got stuck in a rut? How did you get out of it?

I feel this way quite often, feeling like a never-ending spiral of deep, dark thoughts of my past or future. I try to keep myself occupied as much as possible with the few hobbies I do have to get out of the rut.

I actually like having stability and a routine. Ruts aren't always bad.
