Texting While Driving

Sometimes when I'm in a traffic jam. I'm pretty much standing still then anyway.

Mobile is off when in a car so I never text

Was at a red light this morning and the guy in the other lane was texting away. The light turned green and he was still texting away. He damn near hit my truck because he crossed the double line into my lane. I slowed down and was able to get behind him. He pulled into a gas station. I pulled in also and got his license plate number. Then I called it in to the police and waited. Didn't take long before a cop arrived. The cop took my report and thank goodness the texter was still there. I was told I could leave and the cop thanked me for taking the time to report it.



Saw the cop talking with the driver when I was pulling out. Not sure what's going to happen to the driver and I don't care. Just made me feel good to catch this guy before he hit another vehicle or caused an accident.

If the system is the same as here.

A fine, a few points on his license lost, and he'll drive off and keep doing it (just a bit more carefully.)

On my way back from the doctor this morning I saw a guy with Virginia tags texting away in the right hand lane running about 50 MPH while the rest of the traffic on DE Rt 1 was running at 65+.



Real smart buddy.

Another accident scene last night. Yes, you've guessed it. Texting while driving. This idiot was so engrossed with texting that he didn't notice the road was blocked off with barriers. Smashed right through the barriers and landed up-side-down in the lake. Jerk , believe it or not, was found with the phone still in his hand. Waste of emergency personnel who had to respond. We have better things to do than save some dumb ass texting on a phone.
