What do you think about the idea of the 3DS?
3D video capture, an eShop to buy and download games on their release dates without going to the store, and the large game library was enough for me to buy a 3DS. My old DSs broke too and I needed another handheld if I was ever feeling to play one of my old DS games, so the DS backward compatibility did its part there.

I've seen reviews on other forums and for the moment I see more cons than pros. It looks nice, I'll give Nintendo credit for that, but a weak battery when the 3D effects are turned on? I don't like the sound of that at all. I just got a DS Lite about a year ago, and I think I'll be holding on to that a little bit longer thank you very much.
The battery is a problem, I have to admit. Turning off 3D and wireless helps. As for more cons than pros, that's where you're wrong. Try one for a couple of days and you'll discover it.

I don't like it. The 3D effect on the handheld can really hurt your eyes but you can always turn it off. To me, 3D itself is a stupid gimmick nowadays.
You have to align it with your eye just right, but too much of it can hurt your eye depending on the game. Tekken 3D Prime Edition is a good example.
