The Church of Scientology

Scientology is a religion that offers a precise path leading to a complete and certain understanding of one’s true spiritual nature and one’s relationship to self, family, groups, Mankind, all life forms, the material universe, the spiritual universe and the Supreme Being.

Scientology addresses the spirit—not the body or mind—and believes that Man is far more than a product of his environment, or his genes.

Scientology comprises a body of knowledge which extends from certain fundamental truths.

Prime among these are:

Man is an immortal spiritual being.

His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime.

His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized.

Scientology further holds Man to be basically good, and that his spiritual salvation depends upon himself, his fellows and his attainment of brotherhood with the universe.

Personally, I absolutely LOVE the fact that the author of some low-rent quasi-smutty science fiction founded the thing.

This and this. I have heard nothing good about the Church of Scientology both from just regular folks and seeing it in the news with celebrities.

Seems to me that Scientology is morally opposed to Christianity which doesn't deem man fit to do anything to bring spiritual salvation to him/herself. The reason I think many see all religion is the same as many all fall into the idea that man can save himself and must do works to appease a God in order to be saved. Christianity is the only one that has God appease Himself through sending His Son to pay for the sins of the world and only asks of you to accept the work done and put your full faith into believing it to be true. That's a marked difference that you won't find within man made religion.

A quick look through the news on any given day doesn't suggest we live in a world full of good people with a few bad people but rather an evil world with a few good people in it which sounds much more like a world full of unrepentant sinners with a few who repented and turned from their ways. It doesn't mean the bad people of this evil world can't do good but their nature is evil as any good done by these people is merely done out of self interest rather then love which is the mark of any true convert to Christianity..
