The Success of the Jan. 6th Hearings..

I figured this was just put on to rile up the base for the left and to distract from Biden's many failings. Nothing is going to come from this much like how every other investigation into Donald Trump ultimately went nowhere.

Doesn't mean you can't look; as people like to say, BZ, "If you've done nothing wrong, let the chips fall where they will."

(The Guardian) While the FBI works behind the scenes, the January 6 committee will today hold its fifth public hearing, this time focusing on what was going on at the justice department around the time of the 2020 election. Hugo Lowell takes a look at what to expect: Donald Trump pressured top justice department officials to falsely declare that the 2020 election was corrupt and launch investigations into discredited claims of fraud as part of an effort to return him to office, the House January 6 select committee will say on Thursday.

The panel investigating the Capitol attack is expected at its fifth hearing to focus on how Trump abused the power of the presidency to twist the justice department into endorsing false election claims – and potentially how the Republican congressman Scott Perry sought a pardon for his involvement.

The finer details of the hearing were outlined to the Guardian by two sources close to the inquiry who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to reveal details ahead of the hearing. They cautioned that the details might still change.

Yeah with today’s utterly and completely corrupt federal government that would be a stupid decision

While whites houses Stasi thugs go after people in the cover of darkness should be the way they should have put it.

(The Guardian) Instead of just presenting the facts from their investigation, the January 6 committee has generated a clear narrative, teasing how each piece will connect to the next at a future hearing.

They have promised and delivered on new sensational details, making the hearings can’t miss television. The committee, which is getting advice from a former ABC News executive, have put on hearings that felt more like a Hollywood prestige limited series than a congressional inquiry.

“They have put on the Watergate hearings for the streaming era,” said Norman Eisen, who served as special counsel to the House judiciary committee during Trump’s first impeachment.
The committee has done this in a few key ways. They’ve broken up the hearings into several pieces, keeping each hearing to just a few hours (short by Congress’s standards) and focused on a particular topic.

A single member of the committee, or professional staff, has handled the questioning, without interruptions from the opposing party. And the committee has placed a beating heart at the center of its investigation, featuring testimony from police officers, elected officials, and election workers who have all emotionally laid out the severe consequences of Trump’s pressure campaign.

Trump damn well knew Jan. 6th was going to happen; he knew it, he stoked the fires of 1-6 with his "election fraud" bullshit and all he had to do that day was light a match....

The only ones who knew it might happen was the fbi and government plants who stoked the flames to get people riled up that day.

Must've been a two-month long effort then....

Anyone else paying attention to these hearings or is Congress wasting more money as usual?
'Cause I'm starting to think they are....

ALL of these hearings either Republican or Democrat are a waste of money. Has there ever been a time they have accomplished anything for either party?

Here's a thought: when are the hearings about the 2020 "Summer of Love" going to happen?
