The world expects too much of young people

Don’t check out, this is a adventure worth fighting for until the universe says it’s your time. But don’t just give it to the universe.
He's right; trust me on this one.

I will repeat it 'til I'm blue in the face but every day since I wanted to slit my wrists back in mid-Oct. of last year, I wake up every damn day thankful to God that I've gotten a second chance at this life and I'll be damned if I blow it. (Yeah, I know Serafin's an atheist but even he understands what I'm saying here.)

I am yet to see so much as one good reason to live, to press on, why have humans placed life on the pedestal while at the same time kill each other over trivial matters. Life life life life... blah blah blah blah...

Life is nothing more than pain and suffering, and humans are experts in inflicting pain and making other humans suffer.

I don’t know how old you are but I’m going to guess your still young. Find some kind of help to show you it’s more than just surviving much more.

First you need to find purpose in life that leaves your mark here even if it means being poor doing it. Some of the happiest people I know don’t have squat but family.

2nd you need to find someone to love that makes life living so incredible so much you would sacrifice your life for easily. Mine comes home at 6.

I already don't have squat, so I suppose I can cross that off my list, eh?

And no, life is nothing more that meaningless surviving, day after day, until one day your body says 'enough' and you drop dead, either gradually or suddenly. Life can be summed up to this: Work, eat, sleep, repeat so you can continue to work, eat and sleep until the Grim Reaper comes knocking on your door.

Humans are born and humans die. Everything we do in between serves only to pass the time, so we don't die prematurely of boredom.

Well I hope you stay around to find out that is a simplistic view of life and it’s much more.

Have you thought about seeing a therapist? This is sort of things that depressed people say.

That would get me fired, since my job requires spotless medical history, not counting the usual ailments that come with age, of course.

Unless you plan on hurting someone else It stays secret from everyone.

Therapists take your privacy very seriously. Only in extreme cases will they break confidentiality.
In therapy, it’s important for you to feel like you have a safe space — and much of this involves knowing there is strict therapist-client confidentiality.

You should have confidence that when you share your innermost thoughts and feelings with your therapist, that your personal information won’t leave the room.

In some situations, however, your therapist may be legally required to break confidentiality. Breaking confidentiality means sharing the minimum amount of protected health information needed to a third party, including a family member or a government organization like child protective services or the police.

These would be extreme cases where they believe that your life or another person’s life is in immediate danger.

Every employee at my workplace is required to go through an extensive background check before even been granted to work there. That includes medical background, specifically psychological aspect of it.

The background check is conducted by a government agency equal to CIA in US, and they're looking for anything, no matter how small and / or insignificant it may seem, to rub it in your face and use it against you during an interview with one of their agents.

There is a questionnaire we have to fill up. One of the fields explicitly pries into your mental health, past and / or present, so the agents get to know absolutely everything.

Well maybe it’s time to find a new job? You obviously ain’t happy. God knows the country is looking for intelligent people for every kind of job under the sun.

Maybe in US, finding a new job is a piece of cake, but here where I am, unless you have strong political connections, a family member in the right place and / or enough money to bribe someone, you can forget about getting a job.

I got my current job on a fluke. It happened that the company's entire IT staff quit at the same time, so they were desperate, and I spent a year there as a trainee, so I already knew the system inside and out. My IT coworkers were hired based on nepotism, which they both openly bragged about.

Ah! My apologies I wrongly just assumed you were in the states.

Florida there is a sign on every business door looking for people. So at least for now if you want a job you can get one.
Theres been a few jobs they had to eliminate where I work because they'd advertise a vacant position and nobody would apply for it. Rather than upping the pay or benefits to make the job more enticing to people they just eliminated it and put more work on those of us who continue to work there.

Huh. My employer does something similar, but instead of eliminating job positions, they simply burden the existing employees with more work they're not qualified for and never signed up for, instead of creating appropriate positions and hiring appropriately skilled workers.

Less workers means more money for the boss.
