Thief tried to hide chainsaw in his pants

A US shoplifter has been caught on CCTV cameras - trying to hide a chainsaw down the front of his trousers.

The 28-year-old man was filmed trying to steal a $380 chainsaw from the Treasure Coast Lawn Equipment hardware store in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Unsurprisingly, employees spotted the massive tool and gave chase as he tried to escape, reports TCPalm.com.

The thief jumped on a bike, flinging the saw into a wooded area, and got away. But he was arrested by police when he later returned to try to recover it.

He told police he planned to return it but now faces grand theft charges.
