CGP Grey Explains that, well, the Confederacy were really godawful at flag design, and that the flag that we think of as the "Confederate flag" never was that, officially.

They're right, Jazzy...absolutely right. Only one problem: while that version of the Confederate flag was not the official flag of the Confederacy - it is the flag most associated w/the Confederacy for it is the emblem the South took into battle with it during the Civil War.

So, in a strict sense, they're absolutely right....
