Haven't posted one of these in a few days..

Is torture ever justified? Say in a ticking time bomb scenario, where every second matters, or saving more innocent lives?

Your opinions? Discuss.

I think torture is fine if the person being tortured is a child molester or a rapist.

What if the person they are torturing might know who a terrorist is, and they might strike soon?

Torture does not give good info nor will it ever.

People will say whatever it is that gets you to stop torturing them even if it's a lie.

It's a rather useless technique to getting info out of people.

Anyone who supports torture should first be tortured themselves so they can see if they really want to support that being done to others IMO.

Do that and no one will ever want to support it ever again.

Besides, a person doing the torturing already has a preconceived notion of what the truth is and will only be happy once that person figures out what it is and confirms it even if it's actually not true at all hence why torture isn't helpful.

I agree.

Sorry, I don't.

When your put in a state of such immense pain the only thing you care about is for it too stop. Risking telling a lie to get out of the pain is not something anybody normal would do.

Oh and I don't agree with torture. It's just wrong.

I don't agree with torture either. It is never right. Not to people, animals, or anyone. If we start condoning torture, what part of our society will fall through next?
